The General Confederation of Workers of Greece announced a general strike covering the whole country starting on 17 April 24 at 00:01 hrs and ending on 17 April 24 at 23:59 hrs. Almost all the unions will be participating, along with the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO); therefore, there will be no towage service available on that day.
The above will have a big impact on Piraeus calls, as towage is compulsory for all vessels and will create some congestion for the next few days. The strike may have a different impact on other ports’ operations.
